Project Control System

An effective Project Management Control System (PMCS) comes from a thorough knowledge of the scope of work, project controls fundamentals, a balanced set of procedures and the appropriate use of the best available tools. Project control emphasis should be placed on early warning techniques to spot deviation in the planned work. The project controls system must have the ability to alert project management about problems early enough so that corrective action can be taken, thereby saving time and money.

The PMCS consists of the following modules:
  • Planning and Scheduling, including risk management and earned value analysis.
  • Document Control, including office utilities (word processing, charts, etc.)
  • Budgeting and Cost Control, including contract management.
